Joseph Piccoli photoJoseph C. Piccoli began his career in medicine as an Emergency Room Technician for the US Air Force in 2000. After developing his skills as a search & rescue specialist, he furthered his craft by becoming an American Heart Association Instructor in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Further, his passion for medicine and military background has allowed him to become a subject matter expert in the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) process, and his instruction to such organizations as the FBI, DHS, ATF and Jordanian Royal Guard has allowed him to provide needed training to those most in harm’s way in our own urban environments.

Joseph has performed search-and-rescue trauma medicine in Afghanistan, provided clinical care in Africa and the U.S., and has been lowered from a helicopter to rescue people during Hurricane Katrina. He helped develop battlefield protocols in tourniquet and ketamine use, while also being privy to the testing of some of the newest technology in battlefield medical treatment for the Special Operations Rescue Community. He has undergone some of the most advanced, hands-on medical training that the Department of Defense has to offer, including over 15 cadaver/live tissue labs, half of which he has instructed in specific trauma protocols. Additionally, he has received one-on-one training at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix from top physicians in ultrasound, vascular surgery, sutures, anesthesia, fasciotomy, and escharotomy procedures.

As a full time active duty member, he pursued his Bachelors of Science at Northern Arizona University in Allied Health Management & Paramedic Management. His continued educational goals have him working towards a Master’s as a Physician Assistant.
