General CounselEdward Carrasco, General Counsel, retired from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) with the rank of Deputy Inspector. While in the NYPD, Ed commanded a number of high profile units, including: the Office of Management Analysis and Planning’s Special Projects Unit—the research arm of the NYPD; School Safety Division Uniformed Task Force; and Police Academy Leadership Training Section. In addition to serving in specialty units, Ed has significant patrol experience, having served in six patrol commands in the ranks of police officer through captain.
Ed’s expertise is in premise security and liability, physical security, policy and planning, and internal security management. Ed is an attorney, admitted to the practice of law in New York, New Jersey and US District Court, New Jersey; he holds a J.D. from City University of New York School of Law, an M.P.A. from Harvard, an M.A. in Criminal Justice from John Jay College, and is a graduate of The Police Management Institute, Session XXV.
