Analyst / TrainerJust prior to his retirement, Louis received the prestigious Hemmerdinger Award — given by the NYC Police Foundation — for his exemplary service and contributions to the NYPD’s active shooter and casualty care training program, as well as other initiatives related to school-based emergency preparedness.
During his tenure with the NYPD he received extensive training in many areas of emergency preparedness, threat assessments, hazard and vulnerability assessments, tactical combat casualty care, active shooter and terrorism.
Louis has attended law enforcement debriefs of many active shooter & terrorist incidents which include Columbine HS, Platte Canyon HS, Virginia Tech, Northern Illinois University, Amish School, Terrorist school siege in Beslan Russia and the Beltway sniper incident.
Louis has spoken at venues across the United States and has co-presented with the FBI on “Targeted Acts of School Violence.” He is a “Subject Matter Expert” in school emergency preparedness and school violence.
He is currently the President of two companies: Peregrine Training Services & Spartan School Consulting.
Louis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Management from Empire State College.
