On March 30, 2015, CL360 delivered its signature POW Care training to approximately 200 cadets at the prestigious Virginia Military Institute, often referred to as “the West Point of the South”. On hand from CL360 were: John Schoppmann, Lou Rapoli, Luis Rodriguez, Thomas Cappiello, Kevin Reilly and Brian Reilly.
After the early morning lectures by Mr. Schoppmann and Mr Rapoli, the cadets rotated through a series of skill stations in various classrooms manned by CL360 trainers; particular emphasis was placed on hemorrhage control at these stations in preparation for the hyper-realistic exercises in the afternoon.
In the afternoon, the cadets were subjected to the daunting “Columbine Mile”, spearheaded by Techline’s Craig Hall, where they had to proceed through an obstacle course of multiple injured people (live actors and simulation equipment) – making critical decisions about triage and applying medical interventions, before moving on to the next unknown encounter.
